Burnley College migrated its Exchange mail boxes over the summer break to the Microsoft Office 365 Education platform which is offered free of charge to qualifying educational establishments.
The roll out was planned and deployed in a joint project with Nviron and the Burnley College in house team.
To provide a seamless end user experience the advanced architecture took advantage of ADFS, Dirsync, SSO and clustering to ensure high availability.
The objective of having all mail boxes ready for September start of term was met despite tight timescales. The result was in excess of 6,000 staff and student mailbox’s migrated into the cloud with no down-time or disruption.
